Dr. Rami R. Zanoun attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and earned a clinical grant from the National Institute of Mental Health for his research in neuroscience. During that time he was chairman of the Global Health Interest Group, and as an Albert Schweitzer Fellow he focused on mental health education within the refugee community.
He completed his residency in psychiatry at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, part of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, which is a 400-bed psychiatric hospital regarded as one of the national leaders in psychiatric research and clinical care.
Before starting private practice he worked as an associate professor of psychiatry at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, where he cared for patients and engaged medical students and residents in patient-centered and evidence-based care.
